Oh, hello! Are you here to join our army here at toran_castle? Wonderful! We could definitely use all of the help that we can get. My name is Estellise, and I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions and brief you in on what to expect here in the Castle.

Before we begin, though, here are a few things I have been asked to remind you of.

Please view the Guidelines and FAQ.

Please remember The Prime Directive. The Prime Directive is: Be excellent to each other.

Also, your player must be at least 18 years old.

And finally, the following types of characters are not allowed:
*Original characters
*Alternative Universe characters
*Real life people, unless they are historical figures in a highly fictionalized context
*Duplicates of characters currently in play
*Characters who appear solely in a webcomic

Now that that's taken care of, do you have any preliminary questions for me? I'll do my best to answer whatever you ask of me.

[ This was always the worst part of the job, Estelle had to admit to herself. This man, like many others she had seen, all thought they could come and go as much or as little as they wanted to. That wasn't the case, though, and it was part of her job to break that news to them. ]

[ She was obligated to say this regardless of whether or not he did. ]

Once you are in the Castle, you are unable to leave until the Castle says so. There are many of us here who have been here for several months, or even a year or so. Whatever you have to do back home ... I'm sorry, but I'm afraid it's going to have to wait.

[ Estelle hated giving that news. She always had to remind herself that it was necessary to give it, though, and to help the new recruits through whatever reaction they had to it. ]

[Well, this sounds serious. Akihiko opts to stand, though. He doesn't like to show weakness, and whatever this entails, he will deal with it.]

I'll be fine. Thanks.

[In an effort to appear nonchalant, he starts pulling his gloves on tighter, as if already preparing for an upcoming fight.]

...Hmm. Is that so?

[Despite the calmness of his tone, his body language is more revealing. His expression darkens, and he presses his lips together in a distinct show of displeasure. His first thought is that he's letting his team down back home... and following up with that, he wonders how he can return to them ASAP. With the Chairman's recent betrayal and Mitsuru's father being murdered... SEES is vulnerable right now.

Akihiko hates this feeling of helplessness. He swallows hard and clenches a fist.]

Who is responsible for bringing us here?

Your character could most definitely remember this! So yes, it can count as IC. :)

The Castle.

[ It's ... unfortunately the one thing most of the residents blame for most anything in this place. ]

The Castle pulls whoever it needs, whenever it needs them, regardless of whatever is going on for them back in their own homes. It pulls in people from different time periods, different places, different worlds ...

I understand, this likely sounds very far-fetched. Please believe me, though. This is all the truth, and this is exactly what's happening right now.

You mean... this Castle? Is it... actually sentient?

[He definitely doesn't look convinced. In a way, Tartarus is a bit similar to the Castle with all the Shadows, but...]

Well... it doesn't seem like you have any reason to lie. [Forgive his skepticism - he's normally more trusting, save certain recent events.] I guess I'll just have to wait and see for myself...

So, are there any training regimes in place? What have you guys learned so far?

I believe it is, to some extent. There are others who believe the same. We generally don't know exactly how people are brought here, so we say the Castle is the one to do it.

[ She really isn't a very good liar. You would know if she were lying. She would be quite obvious. ]

I do believe there is some organization starting to happen within the army's ranks. We have a few experienced leaders who are trying to sort people into the army based on what their skills and talents are. It's not just fighters that we have here in our army ... we also have healers, chefs, entertainers, and many more different types of people who have arrived here to both fight and support our army in some way.

If you ever figure that out... be sure to share the info with everyone else. There's gotta be some reason how it does things, though...

[All right, it isn't something for him to figure out right now, but to keep in the back of his mind. He needs to gather as much info as possible, anyway. Mitsuru has taught him the importance of not being left in ignorance whenever possible.]

...Sounds pretty interesting. [He lifts a fist and looks at Estelle with firm confidence.] If that's what needs to be done in order for me to go back home... then I'm in.

[ Well, that was ... interesting. She hadn't gotten advice from very many people in this position. But it was a nice change, really. It told Estelle that this guy could stand on his own, and that was really important to do here in the castle. She smiled and nodded at his request. ]

If I ever do find out how it happens, I will be sure to let everybody know. I promise.

[ And then he shared his name, and she held a hand out for shaking. ]

As I've already said, my name is Estellise. It's a pleasure to meet you, Akihiko, and I look forward to getting to know you better during our time in the Castle!
