[ He's tired enough that it comes out as flat as a voice can get, and he half turns to look about. Stiffly, even.

This wasn't where he ought to be. Did Tarqaron drift? No, it couldn't be, he recognizes near everywhere on Terca Lumireis.

This was about as unwelcome as being recruited for another army. ]

And I doubt that last.

[ Estelle recognizes you, good sir. And the fact that she's seeing him after ... well, everything, is making her job a little more awkward. She puts on a smile, though, and nods in response to him. ]

Yes ... Yes, I know who you are as well. It's good to see you again, Duke.

[ Awk-waaaard. ]

... Would you like to have a seat?

[ She gestures to a table nearby. This might be something best talked over while sitting down. ]

[ Uh-huh. Sure it is. Duke studies her a moment, and decides that was social ... something, that had her say it was good to see him.

Unless it was just how awkwardly nice the girl was. That was always an option. Just a more uncomfortable one...

He finishes looking about, and not really seeing any way to get back to Terca Lumireis, or even Tarqaron, he steps over to the table with a look of 'doesn't seem like many other options'.

But he stops and stands next to the chair there. Give him a moment to get some rusty gears turning - ought he try to have a semblance of manners or social ability, or remain as.. whatever he was normally.

Duke doesn't take the seat he stands by, but pushes it somewhat away from the table, like he might, before turning and taking the other seat. ]

[ Duke was always a strange person, but despite everything, Estelle couldn't bring herself to believe that he was an inherently bad one. He just wanted what was best for the world, in his own way.

... their way just happened to be the one to work out.

It was strange, how Estelle could understand what Duke wanted, despite the fact tat he had nearly committed global genocide back in their world. She didn't condone it by any means, but she understood why he thought it may have been the best course of action. And as for their situation here ... she was genuinely sorry that he - or anybody - had to be stuck here against their will.

Though, understanding sort that she is, Estelle also understood why this Castle pulled them here, in its' own strange way.

She watched Duke as he played his little game of musical chairs, then took the seat directly across from him. ]

I'm sorry. I know this isn't the most ideal situation to be in, for anybody.

[ As much as it was her job to recruit, she had to be honest, too. ]

This may be easier if I have you ask me any questions you have. If you don't have any, I'll do what I can to explain the predicament we currently find ourselves in.

[ Her face had taken on a serious expression. ]

( ooc: I'm going to be scarce for the next couple of days, just a heads up. :x We've got RL stuff going on that really requires my attention. )

Duke gives a heavier exhale in irritation, shifting a little in the seat. This isn't comfortable at all, although its probably just him being sore from the fight, and just... Social things. ]

(OOC: does this mean some boomeranging before poofing because I can really try to get his words to move rather than tag, game, tag-)

I suppose you're right. In any case, this place is known as Toran Castle. The Castle has been bringing in people from all sorts of different worlds in order to protect it from the great evil that is going to attack.

[ She offers a bit of a sheepish smile toward him. ]

Unfortunately, nobody seems to know who or what this 'great evil' is, nor when it will attack. Regardless, The Castle is preparing for something big, hence why we're here.

( ooc: I can try to boomerang a little now that I've gotten some of it done! I still have to go to work soon, too but I can tag from my phone when I have a break. The RL things fell at a really bad time for everyone over here. @_@; )

[ Pity, because that made things far simpler. It was obvious what the problem was. ]

[ Well, at least they were able to sit here and have a civil conversation about this ... ]

There are a few of us here already from Terca Lumireis. I think if we discovered there were a creature in the sky, all of us would immediately know how to handle it, and look for ways to do so.

However ... we already know that's not the case here. Not even those who are native to this place seem to know what the Great Evil is, only that the Castle knows it's coming and is preparing to fight it.

[ She sits back a little and sighs. ]

Mind you, there are those of us who have been trying to obtain as much information as possible on the subject, but there isn't a lot that we have learned.

[ Its because there's no clear way home that Duke is sitting at all. He would rather be able to walk away and not-be-here, but it was clearly not an option. ]

[ Yes, he's mimicking that way she is saying it like its a name - less of a name of a place, more of name of a person. ]

... Sentient, then?

[ There might have been a slight twitch at the "a few of us here from Terca Lumireis". Its not that he doesn't like you - although the 'liking' varies person by person - its just that Brave Vesperia is going to make him moderately uncomfortable for some time.

.. It might just be that they're people and they try to talk to him. Who knows. ]

Of course you may, Miss Estellise. So what exactly are these questions you wish to ask me? And I'm rather interested in knowing more about this castle.

[ She takes her seat as well, clasping her hands together in her lap and sitting up straight. She looks to Frederic with a friendly smile, though it's a much smaller one than the smile she had previously regarded him with. Now was the time to get down to business. ]

I thought perhaps I could answer any specific questions you had, actually. Is there anything in particular you would like to know? I find that this way, it's a little easier to have a starting point in what we need to cover in regards to this place.

[He decides to confess a bit, even if he didn't really want to. Though Estellise seems like a nice enough girl and in a way, she reminds him of Polka which he takes comfort in.]

You may or may not believe this, but I was asleep before my arrival to this world. Upon awakening, I found myself in this castle and I'm beginning to wonder if this is yet another dream world of my own making. Though I doubt anyone would believe such a story, that is why I wish to know if this is in fact another reality or one I have created.

[ Estelle had heard a lot of things in her life, and had read a lot of things (a lot of things), and after her journeys both back on Terca Lumireis and thus far here in Toran, she had also now experienced a lot of things. Everyone here in Toran came from some very unusual things, in her experience, and this was among the least unusual she had heard about. She nods a little in response. ]

I believe you. However, I really doubt this place is anybody's dream world ... unless we all are asleep back in our homes and sharing the same dream.

Nobody is really all that sure who our enemy is, to be honest. All we know is that the Castle is recruiting for battle.

I've known war and been involved with one indirectly, so perhaps I may be of some help to the Castle's cause. I think the suffering of innocence is the greatest tragedy regarding war, it's appalling.

[Though instead of talking about war, he brings up another question.]

Forgive my rather odd question and changing the subject so abruptly, but I wish to locate a piano. Does this Castle have one or can I find one elsewhere?

[ That was an odd question, change of subject, but it was actually kind of nice to talk about other things in these meetings at times. Estelle smiled brightly. ]

I don't know for sure, but there will be plenty of time to explore the castle! In a place such as this, I'm sure you'll find one.

In any case, I do think you'll be a great help to the army. You seem like a good person, and I really look forward to getting to know you better, Frederic.

[Okay..Cinque is here, looking a tad confused of his current surrounding. He is not afraid, though. Well, considering that he was once being summoned to a certain Kingdom by a cute princess to join their army force in a war, this is getting old, isn't it? He'll adapt quickly.]

[Cinque looks closely at Estellise with an enthusiastic face. He takes somehow a minute long before he gets to reply her.]

[He waves at her casually and smiles, looking cheerful as usual. Then, he scratches his blond hair, somehow nervous.]
