Oh, hello! Are you here to join our army here at toran_castle? Wonderful! We could definitely use all of the help that we can get. My name is Estellise, and I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions and brief you in on what to expect here in the Castle.

Before we begin, though, here are a few things I have been asked to remind you of.

Please view the Guidelines and FAQ.

Please remember The Prime Directive. The Prime Directive is: Be excellent to each other.

Also, your player must be at least 18 years old.

And finally, the following types of characters are not allowed:
*Original characters
*Alternative Universe characters
*Real life people, unless they are historical figures in a highly fictionalized context
*Duplicates of characters currently in play
*Characters who appear solely in a webcomic

Now that that's taken care of, do you have any preliminary questions for me? I'll do my best to answer whatever you ask of me.

Chizuru Yukimura / Hakuoki

"Hello, Estellise," Chizuru starts, bowing her upper form. Even though Chizuru is .. not exactly so sure how she got .. where she even is, she remains calm about it.

"My name is Chizuru Yukimura. It's a pleasure to meet you."

After she stands back up, Chizuru waits with her hands folded politely at her stomach. She'll wait to be invited to sit first, and won't initiate further conversations until introductions are done.

An army, though. Well.. she has experience with that, but..

She can't help but smile at the polite young lady, nodding and giving her the invitation to sit with a gesture to the empty chair.

"It's very nice to meet you, Chizuru!"

Estelle relaxes a little in her seat ... as much as she would allow herself to. She was far to accustomed to sitting in a more poised, polite manner, as she was taught to do as a Princess.

"This sort of thing isn't easy to explain, so I like to start things off by answering whatever questions you have, and then going in and filling in the details that weren't covered by your questions. So then, with that in mind ... I'm sure you have some questions about what's going on?"

Chizuru sits as asked, and sits upright. Her hands shift together in her lap, even if subtly, giving away the fact she does feel uncertain of the situation.

"W-well, for one.. how did I get here? And if I join this army.. who will the enemy be?"

Well, those were pretty typical questions. It was odd to suddenly be somewhere Chizuru did not know of and then be recruited for joining an unknown army. Really, people could likely be much more angry and confused with the situation, but..

The girl saw no reason to be. After all, everyone had been quite nice. And since Estellise was offering her information, Chizuru felt thankful.

She knows that the people here oftentimes arrive confused ... because for the most part, the people who brought to this place have no say in the matter, and aren't expecting it in the least. She felt bad for everyone, especially having been in their exact position herself before.

She especially felt bad for the ones who are as sweet as Chizuru seemed to be.

"The common excuse as to how we got here is usually 'The Castle wants you.' Which is ... the common excuse for a lot of things here, to be honest." Estelle sighed. She wished then, for what felt like the hundredth time, that she had more concrete answers for people upon their arrival here.

"Our enemy is unknown to all of us who have been recruited. Attacks have been made on the Castle, but we unfortunately don't know who or what is behind them."

"I see," Chizuru replies plainly, taking a moment to absorb the idea. She was.. wanted here, chosen? And it seems Estellise knows little more. "Well, that's okay. I would like to help. Uhm, I do admit.. although I have training with my kodachi.."

The girl motions towards the blade at her hip, but then looks back to Estellise and places her hands in her lap again.

"I have never killed and.. I only know how to defend myself. Do you need.. people to help with the wounded and sick.. and run messages.. and clean and upkeep? I have done that all before in a time of need for a small army."

Chizuru smiles briefly while recounting it. Yes, the Shinsegumi were small, but they were an amazing army without the numbers. In fact, as she speaks about it briefly, one can sense pride coming from her brief smile. She was glad she had been able to help with whatever she could.

To that question, Estelle nodded enthusiastically.

"Oh, yes, we do! I'm more of a healer than a fighter myself, actually," she explained, glad to see the smile that had appeared on Chizuru's face.

"The army here doesn't always recruit people who are gifted in combat. That's where we look for other places where they can help. We definitely have the room for people who are healers, or chefs, or messengers ... Everyone here can play a part in some way or another."

"I would like to learn more about medicines and helping the sick. I.." the girl starts, smiling softly as she continues to speak, "am hoping I can become a doctor someday. I think that is how I can help people best."

Suddenly, the girl flusters a bit. Chizuru feels as if she's gone on an unneeded tangent about herself, and even though Estellise is being very nice.. that isn't what this conversation is about!

"..Is there any way some of my friends may be picked for the army, too?"

Estelle blinked, unsure for a moment as to what she meant by that. She smiled, though, shaking her head sadly.

"Unfortunately, the people who are brought here is entirely up to the Castle. We have no control over who is brought here and who isn't. There is a possibility of your friends being recruited, but we don't know for sure if they will ever arrive here."

Estelle was one of the fortunate ones in this place. She had many people from her own world here with her.

"As for your dream of becoming a doctor, I think that's lovely. You really seem to care a lot about people, Chizuru."

No way to tell if her friends would be picked.. well, she could always hope. Chizuru had learned a lot about herself during her stay with the Shinsegumi, and she'd use it to continue to help others and move on. And that included accepting herself as a demon.

"I.. will admit, it's kind of strange to just.. think I was pulled here. But, I will do my best, Estellise. I want to help out. No use to have idle hands, right?"

Chizuru brings a fingertip to her chin, and then drops it after she's thought of something to ask about.

"It's .. maybe a bit too much to ask, but can you .. briefly describe to me castle life here..?"

ACCEPTED

Estelle had to hand it to her. Chizuru was a very strong girl, and she could see that just from the conversation she was having with her right now. The fact that she accepted this so easily was a relief. She nodded in response to her first comment, then thought for a little bit on the next one.

"It's not too much at all! Life here is fairly simple, which ... I understand is probably very strange to hear, considering we're in the middle of a war. Food is provided for us, shelter is as well, entertainment is fairly easy to find, and there are many people here in the Castle to relate to and talk with."

Estelle stood, then, holding a hand out to Chizuru with a smile.

"Come with me. I'll show you around, okay?"
